EDI4STEEL to SAP Connection module

  • EDI4STEEL is a platform to connect ERP systems of steel producers, stockholders, service centres and steel users using a secure platform using standardised message exchange protocol Electronic Data Interchange, based on UBL (unified business language), adapted to the specific requirements of the steel industry.
In 2020 we will incorporatie the following messages: order (done), order confirmation (done), despatch advice (pilot), certificate ( pilot), invoice (October).

EDI4STEEL is using The European Commission’s eDelivery Building Block solution for secure and reliable electronic exchange of documents regardless of document content and industry. By using the Access Points (AP) makes it easy to integrate ERP systems using the AS4 message exchange protocol.
EDI4Steel also adopted EU Commission provided software for the Service Metadata Publisher (SMP) and the Service Metadata Locator (SML), which together, enable Access Points to dynamically discover the IP addresses of destination Access Points.

We now are looking for a partner who will develop a standard connection module between EDI4STEEL and SAP ERP systems.

The connection between a SAP system and EDI4STEEL consists of two parts:
mapping of the information in the EDI4STEEL message to the internal SAP system. This most probly will be executed by local SAP consultants.
connection module between the Access point of EDI4STEEL and the local SAP system. We want to place this module in the SAP app center so all future SAP users can use this to connect to EDI4STEEL.

These are the parameters for the development of a EDI4STEEL <-> SAP connection module.
The SAP version which is used: SAP ECC or S4HANA (on-premise or cloud).
Which interface is currently used: IDOC, ABAP Proxies, Webservices? When using IDOCS. Which IDOC messages are used for the relevant processes in scope? E.g. IDOC ORDER05? Are those IDOC’s standard or customized (Z_)?
What message is used for receiving  dispatch advices (DESADV) and dealing with the certificates?
What middleware is used, SAP PI/PO or SAP CPI?

For more information about the concept of EDI4STEEL see the EU website.

Information about the messages can be found on the following website: http://smartconnected.semantic-treehouse.nl/
This is the website of TNO (the Dutch partner of Frauenhofer).
You go to shared language and log in with google or linked-in.
There you will find the different messages. In 2019 we have defined with TNO the measurement (certificaten), Quotation, Order, Despatch messages and are now implementing the order message.
Some of the information is in Dutch.

So everything is there: messages, infrastructure, governance

I am looking for a person who can develop the standard connection module.
